JanArt CUVÉE
They have been making music together for 10 years. Geographically only 10 km apart, Janez Gregorič and Arthur Ottowitz grew up with a wide range of musical backgrounds. They played together for the first time in 2006 in the cultural city of Bleiburg | Pliberk. Classical guitar and harmonica combine the diversity of Carinthia's two national languages to create a unique sound experience.
Janez Gregorič in Arthur Ottowitz sta se, drug od drugega geografsko oddaljena le 10 km, glasbeno vsestransko razvijala. V mestu kulture Pliberk | Bleiburg sta prvič nastopila skupaj leta 2006. Klasična kitara in orglice glasbeno združujeta pestrost obeh koroških deželnih jezikov, rezultat je cuvée posebne vrste – JanArt.
Walter Auer & Janez Gregoric
Montevideo stands for the music for solo guitar by Abel Carlevaro, Buenos Aires for Astor Piazzolla, the founder of tango nuevo, who was friends with the Carlevaro family and created a masterpiece for this instrumentation with his composition "The History of Tango" for flute/guitar. In his short original compositions Montevideo revisited, Janez Gregorič has incorporated formative elements of his intensive engagement with Abel Carlevaro during his study stays in Montevideo. His composition "Transitions" for flute/guitar, composed in 2012 and premiered together with the solo flutist of the Vienna Philharmonic, Walter Auer, establishes a connection to Vienna both in terms of sound and geography.
